Stronger

On my way home from work today, I was feeling a little down.  It had been a long day, I had a pounding headache, and crazy thoughts were running through my head.  "Where is my life going?  Am I going to be working at this same job and doing the same thing forever?  Am I ever going to see my dreams come to pass?"  All I wanted to do was go home and take a nap.  In an effort to distract my mind from my own thoughts, I turned on the radio to 89.3 FM.  Not even a minute later, this song started.  It was an upbeat and uplifting song by a familiar voice, Mandisa (does everyone remember Mandisa from Season 5 of American Idol!?).  The song says that when things in life get tough and it seems like it's never going to get better, just hold on and know that it is only making you stronger.  As the words of this song poured over me, I felt an incredible peace, and I was able to start replacing those negative thoughts with thoughts of hope and faith.  I believe that God used that song to remind me that He is there for me and He will never leave me (Deuteronomy 31:8).  Everything I go through in life - if I can just hold on - will only make me stronger.  Here is Mandisa singing her new song, "Stronger".  Be encouraged!

  1. You may think I'm crazy, but I don't think you'll be at that job forever! I think things will start to happen for you and starting a blog is the first step. I have no idea what is going on with you right now, but I know from experience when I started my blog (and had total fear, mind you), big things happened. Now my blog is a little business. Who would have ever thought I could talk about decorating our home and make money doing it? It really was and is a God thing.

Put yourself out there and don't be fearful. Would love to see some videos on your site and sidebar of you singing!

  2. I think Decorchick is right. The internet is amazing. I started a twitter, myspace, facebook, youtube and blogger. Just started putting myself out there and my books started to sell. You could decorate your blog in a way that shows who you are from the inside out (pics, videos of you, and tons of things. People will start listening and following you. :) :) :) God will open doors. He gave you your gifts and I have no doubts He will make a way for you. :) :) God bless you! Love your blog!

  3. Hi Emily (a.k.a. Decorchick!), thanks so much for your comment - it is so encouraging to me. I do plan to post some videos of me singing very soon, just have to work up some more nerve first! :) Please keep me in your prayers. By the way, your blog is the bomb - I love it! I'd love to know more about how you turned it into a business. That truly is a blessing.

  4. Amber, thanks for the comment. I'm a follower of your blog as well, and it's really cool. The orange muffins that you showed in your post today look delicious. I'm not much of a baker, but the recipe looks pretty simple so I might have to try it out!
